The Africa Energy Indaba is the official World Energy Council event for Africa and has as its strategic partners, the NEPAD Agency representing Africa and the Southern African National Energy Association representing South Africa.
The event has a number of official side events including:

- 3rd Women in Energy Conference
- 4th IPP & PPA Conference
- 4th African Energy Ministerial and CEO Dialogue Meeting
- 7th Nuclear Forum
- African Utility Roundtable
In addition, the Africa Energy Indaba Conference will host a number of African countries presenting their Investor Prospectus for their identified HIGH PRIORITY Energy Projects, looking to attract investment, project developers, financiers, partners, etc. as an official full day session as part of the conference. The benefit to the private sector is that the Presenters will be the actual project owners who are keen to do energy deals.
